Yellowstone Highlights

Our last day at Yellowstone was a day of going through the places we have visited before and liked the most.

Beehive Geyser is located in Upper Geyser Basin (not far from Old Faithful). Its eruption lasts long enough to take multiple pictures and from every possible angle. The water and steam goes up high 200 feet.

Emerald Pool is located in Black Sand Basin. It is not as blue anymore as it was originally because yellow bacteria makes it green.

Maybe Roaring Mountain does not roar anymore, however, it is still an impressive site to visit.

Grand Prismatic Spring looks different from above. These are the views from Grand Prismatic Spring Overlook. The views from the overlook are amazing, but it was very crowded, perhaps because we were there on the opening day of the season. We had to wait for a while to be able to get close to the edge of the observation platform.

Only one place along the Yellowstone river is called the Artist’s Point, but the truth is that many places have views that are amazingly picturesque, a real painting come alive, like these one from Lookout Point and the brink of the Lower Falls.

The path down to the Lower Falls observation point is a little narrow and a little muddy but totally worth the visit. As we looked at the pictures we took there, we noticed a really inspired shot that Eugene took of us taking the pictures from the observation point. Not bad at all for an eleven year old!
